The twist comes when Raj’s family decide to emigrate to London for better prospects. This comes as a major setback for Raj since this means breaking all contact with his two friends.
To overcome this problem, Raj decides to communicate with the vibrant Tina via emails but she does not have time to respond.

Hence good friend Pooja steps in and begins to correspond on Tina’s behalf. With time Raj slowly falls in love with the sender.

Fifteen years have passed and Raj once again returns to India. Setting his eyes on Tina, his supposedly email pen-pal, he finds that he actually likes her.
Meanwhile Pooja becomes the silent witness to these emotional developments. Why? Because the special bond of friendship between them prevents her from revealing her actual feelings for Raj.
Soon its time for Raj to return to London and guess who follows suit? Yes, it is none other than Pooja.

It is at this point in time that Raj comes to know the actual truth behind all his email replies. A reluctant Pooja confesses her love to Raj.

Unfortunately at this impromptu moment, Tina loses her father and clings to Raj for moral support. Gradually she too falls in love with Raj.

So what actually happens to all three protagonists in the end? Well, only ‘Mujhse Dosti Karoge’ can reveal the answers in a well executed climax pure Yash Raj style.

Kunal Kohli impresses as a first time director by keeping a tight grip on the screenplay. He does manage to come up with some unexpected ‘filmi’ moments which appear both novel and fresh compared with other present day Bollywood releases.

Excellent performance is exhibited by Hrithik Roshan as Raj. He is extremely competent and impresses in each and every celluloid frame.

Kareena Kapoor as Tina looks ravishingly beautiful and shows great flair for comedy in this film. Although the audience will be reminded of her ‘Poo character’ from the hit film ‘Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham’.
As for Rani Mukerjee; her dignified and subdued performance throughout the film will once again go down well with the audience. We now look forward to seeing her in soon to be release film, ‘Chori Chori’ with actor Ajay Devgan.

Overall this ‘special friendship’ can be described as a mushy romance which is aimed at the teenage group but it also passes with great excellence as a general family entertainer.
Despite playing at only 32 screens around the country, this film took a whopping £204,490 in its first three days of release and managed to reach number 7 in the UK top ten charts.

If that’s good enough for the charts then it is definitely good enough for you to visit your local cinema for this Bollywood flick!
